SOLD OUT Wagashi: The Art of Japanese Tea Sweets
with Margie Yap
Sunday, March 18th | 11:30am - 1:30pm$25.00
Wagashi are traditional Japanese sweets served with tea. For many, wagashi has been elevated into the level of art that represents the essence of the Japanese culture. This is because it has been developed together with the tea ceremony. Wagashi is made from simple ingredients yet fashioned into exquisite confections that reflect the seasons. The taste is subtle to complement rather than overpower the taste of the tea.
In this class the history of wagashi will be covered and students will get a chance to make their own sweets according to the season. We will also sample the taste of them with a bowl of matcha.
Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, March 14th. Tickets will not be available same day.
Attendees receive 15% off in-store purchases on the day of the event.
