Golden Nugget Ripe Puerh
Ripe (Shu) Puerh Tea
8.8 oz. brick brews approx. 123 cups.
A 2012 Vintage, ripe puerh (pronounced POO-ar) with a smooth fermented flavor and aroma similar to wine or soy sauce. The compressed nuggets can be steeped several times, opening up slowly with each subsequent application of hot water.
This is a "ripe" or "cooked" (shu in Mandarin) Puerh, meaning that the aging process has been simulated during the production of the tea. This yields tea with much of the smoothness and character of a naturally aged Puerh, but without the 15-50 year delay.
Ripe Chinese Puerh Black Tea.
Simply add to your infuser one heaping teaspoonful of leaf per 8 oz. of water and place it in your pot, then add the appropriate amount of 212° water and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the infuser and serve!
Though we don't necessarily recommend drinking Golden Nugget iced, our opinion is that a cooled concentrate works best, as regular-strength brew tends to become watery as the ice melts. So, use the above leaf quantities, but half the water, allow it to cool, then pour it over ice and enjoy! The brew will dilute down to proper strength as the ice melts.
