Our first criterion for offering any tea is this: Would we drink it? After all, if we're not going to drink it, we don't think our customers will, either. Our teas are the face of our business (and potentially, yours, too), which means keeping our standards as high as possible. The next criterion involves whether or not the item is available in a USDA Certified Organic option (flavor comes first, but we balance that with whether or not an item is organic). The environment is very important to us, as citizens and as tea vendors, so we offer organic teas whenever and wherever we can. The final - but not least important - criterion we use is price. Having been in the tea business for a number of years, we balance quality and organic integrity with fair pricing. Some of our supreme-grade teas seem quite expensive, by American standards. This is because those teas involve a lot more hand labor and a great amount of extra care during processing, all of which results in absolutely phenomenal single-origin teas (high-mountain oolongs, Japanese green teas, etc.) of incomparable quality. In turn, we all pay a higher premium for those teas. They're worth it - try some, we're pretty sure you'll agree. As a tea import, blending, and wholesale outfit, below are a few points which set us apart from the pack:
Food Service If coffee and milk cost increases are eating profit margins, or if you are looking for a way to bolster your bottom line quickly and easily, we're here to help. Some quick math: On average, one pound of loose tea can make up to 110 pint (16oz) servings, with each pint of brewed tea retailing for $2.50 to $2.75. Tea profits are much greater than those coffee offers and one bartender friend of ours says tea has better margins than alcohol! As a food-service client, you will be provided a portion-labeled scoop for each tea; laminated brewing instruction sheets for your staff (to ensure consistency, as well as optimal profits); and a custom, full-color, laminated menu for your shop. Call or email us for information about our wholesale tea; your customers will appreciate it as much as your bottom line. Also, this post discusses loose tea and profits.
Retail Our teas are available for retail in our Eco-Canister™ pre-pack options. Each canister is comprised of a 100% recycled-content paperboard body and 30% recycled-content label, with the tea inside packaged in a clear, compostable/biodegradable cello bag. The outer labels offer a photo of the tea; blend, origin, and flavor descriptions; and brewing information - everything that discerning tea drinkers find attractive. Currently, #2 lids (recyclable) are used to cap the canister, but we are searching for compressed paper versions of these, to make our Eco-Canisters™ 100% sustainable. Additionally, The Jasmine Pearl is a USDA Certified Organic tea importer and blender - we will provide our certificate and list upon request. Case packs are 6ct and we can, in some cases, provide samples for passive demos. Shelf-talkers are available and we are happy to provide any additional information you may require to increase brand awareness and encourage sales.
